Joe recorded and/or toured with Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman, Marianne Faithfull, the Eels, Courtney Love, John Cale, DJ Shadow, Aimee Mann, Flood, Jane Weidlin and Belinda Carlisle, Flea, Les Claypool and many other artists, though not all at once.
Joe received two National Music Journalisms Awards during his tenure as senior editor at Guitar Player magazine. He also served as senior editor at Premier Guitar magazine.
In his spare time Joe produces the Joe Gore line of guitar effects and edits a geeky guitar blog (tonefiend.com).
